We were so impressed with this homemade ice cream spot! They were so nice and friendly, and offered our dog a treat as well. We were in no way disappointed with our orders!! They have a great covered area with picnic tables outdoors. Definitely recommend if you want a great Scranton experience!!
I love this place! I've been going here since I've been a child and I have not been disappointed yet. The staff is always friendly and and I believe that the ice cream is one of the best in the area. I definitely reccomend this place!
Main Ave Ice Cream has three things going for it. 1. The ice cream is delicious. The have your standard fares: sundaes, cones and shakes. They have featured flavors of soft serve daily. 2. The prices are low. Two can eat for under $10. I'm talking sundaes not cones. 3. The most important to me. They give free small ice cream bowls with a Milkbone for your dog. It's great to take the dog for a walk and grab ice cream for you and dog. Highly recommend this place.

I was in Scranton helping my daughter move into the area. I stopped for gas on my way back to my daughter's apartment and saw the line of people waiting to be served ice cream next door. After a long day of moving things in, an ice cream treat sounded perfect. My daughter and her dog hopped in the car for some ice cream on a beautiful May evening and we headed back to Main Ave Ice Cream. There is next to no parking at Main Ave Ice Cream and only window service available. There are two picnic tables available but people seemed happy enough to share space. The first thing I was asked is would our dog like an ice cream. Free of charge, my daughter's one year old rescue had his first ice cream with a dog cookie on top. FYI the dog LOVES ice cream. My daughter and I shared a medium cup of Moose Tracks. The portions are very large and delicious. The pricing was surprisingly small for such a large helping. I noticed that a lot of people were ordering the soft serve ice creams. That seemed to be the specialty. It is nice to know this little ice cream store is within walking distance. My daughter has already been back.
